Our first school program kicked off this year with 23 Noosa Pengari Steiner School students discovering the secret meanings of becoming an Earthkeeper. As always the program pulls its learners along and slowly but surely participants are drawn into the magical adventure of how to better look after the earth.
Noosa had decided to expand the program to 5 days. This allowed Dominic Farnworth toadd other elements of creativity. Children made lanterns, lit a ceremonial fire with their leaves containing personal reflections, sang songs and recited their poems. We celebrated Rubyʼs birthday with a chocolate cake watching her huge smile as she prepared to blow out her 11 candles.
After 5 days of walks, talks, learnings, explorations and meditation time, children took on the personal responsibility of pledging to live more lightly on the planet. This group of
young people more than met the many challenges presented to them with some expressing their desire to stay longer... we wish!
A big thanks to Noosa leaders Ian and Tim along with our vols, Justin, Dom, Susan and Lizz whose food was simply yummo!
