Healthy Waterways finalist

Over the last few years Wild Mountains has been transforming the upper Camp Creek catchment.

Hundreds of volunteers giving thousands of hours of their labour are helping restore the health of the subtropical forest along the creek and the surrounding catchment with work mainly targeted on friends’ and supporters’ neighbouring Mountain Hut land.

Anyone who had been to Shellars Bend and up to the terraces will have seen the huge difference that has occurred. In recognition of volunteers efforts Wild Mountains was one of three finalists in the Healthy Waterways Awards in the Rural and Agricultural category as well as gaining a finalist spot for Justin in his mentoring role. Unfortunately we didn’t repeat our winning streak of 2014 but then again we acknowledge the fantastic work and effort of projects all over Queensland.

The jungles here and creatures therein thank everyone for their support and as we are hoping for a Scenic Rim Regional Council grant work we look forward to continuing on this project with you all, so watch this space.
